Sir Arvi Parbo (Sydney – 31 Oct, 2002)

Sir Arvi was Managing Director of WMC between the years of 1971 and 1990, as well as Executive Chairman from 1974 to 1990. He is the leading stateman of the Australian mining industry. Between the years of 1971 and 1990, Sir Arvi was Managing Director of WMC as well as Executive Chairman from 1974 to 1990. Sir Arvi was also Non-Executive Chairman of BHP from 1989 to 1992. Sir Arvi has been a mentor for many in the mining industry including our two Australian Council members Jerry Ellis and Campbell Anderson and is highly regarded for his views on a wide range of topics other than mining.
