Anoop Mishra (New York – 2 April, 2007)

At the time of his speech, Mr Mishra was the Minister (Economic) of the Embassy of India in Washington DC, responsible for enhancing India-US Economic Relations. Prior to joining Embassy of India, Mr. Mishra served as a Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat of India, and in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Special Secretary in the Department of Finance, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & natural Gas of the Government of India, and was District Magistrate for six years from 1980 to 1986.
