Natural Soda, Inc. (NSI) owns or leases 9,543 acres of land in the Piceance Creek Basin where the world’s largest known deposit of nahcolite, naturally formed sodium bicarbonate, is situated.  The company has the sodium minerals rights over these leases.  The deposit is in Rio Blanco county, western Colorado, approximately 200 miles west of Denver.

NSI is the only company producing sodium bicarbonate directly from a natural resource. It has the second largest market share in North America and is the only corporation with a fully permitted plant and processing facility in the area. 

The NSI lease area lies on top of the Mahogany Zone, one of the largest known deposits of oil shale in the world.  NSI is currently exploring its options for the most favourable manner in which to take advantage of this strategic position.
